Artist Bio
Robyn is a color addict currently living in Central Pennsylvania.  She has two grown sons and teaches in Harrisburg's Vocational Highschool. She thanks all her kids for bringing her into the computer age! Robyn is a self taught artist. Creating is a path to sanity. Folks have asked to hang pieces of her work in their homes because they found it to be sanity producing as well. Maybe something here will appeal to you as you create your own island of sanity in the world.

The quilting process Robyn uses has changed through the years. She describes her process as "akin to painting". She no longer uses patterns and never knows if a piece is going to be a 15" square wall hanging, a bed sized quilt, or a jacket when she begins. There is a dialogue with the patterns and colors in the cloth. It is what it is! Watch her blog for notes about the quilting process and to see works in process.

Painting reflects Robyn's obsession with the light, colors, and patterns in the landscapes around her. Summer into fall are her favorite painting months. Robyn loves refurbishing old frames and picking out just the right mats. Sometimes paintings are framed with photographs taken in conjunction with painting sessions. In answer to the "Where do you paint?" question, Robyn has put up pictures of some of the inspirations for paintings. http://sites.google.com/site/robynkermes/home
